TAIWAN SKIM TRIP 2013 (Day 3 & 4 Kenting)

Time to head south to Kenting. Took the High Speed Rail (HSR) from Taipei main station to Zuo ying station in 高雄. About $40 per pax. Really smooth ride took only about 2 hours! Highest speed 330km!

Upon reaching Zuo Ying station, we were welcome by our local friend "Tim & Ivy". They were really nice to fetch us from Kaohsiung to Kenting. Estimate car ride about 1-2hr.

Stop by this famous cheesecake café. Heard that they accept pre-order online and is able to deliver to anywhere in Taiwan. Woah..

 

Next stopover. A simple yet well known dessert store near to kenting area. Eat ICE in such a hot weather = shiok!

The most famous Bao shop in kenting. Always got long queue, guess it must be really good. I never eat because I wanna skim!! hahahah

FINALLY!!~ Kenting Skimboarding time!!~

As usual, girls will be cam-whoring while the boys are hot in actions. Left to right "Tina, Angela, Ivy, Mickey"

First dinner in Kenting Smokey Joe's. Alfresco dining with a wide variety of food and drink. After our dinner, it's back to 民俗 for an early night as we need to wake up really early tomorrow to prepare for the Skim comp!

Skimmers and their spouse and kids from all over the world staying under one roof! How cool is that huh?! haha..

Commencement of the 2nd official international skimboarding competition held in Taiwan Kenting. Our commentator "Yellow Man" haha!!~ This year we have skimmers from Japan, Philippines, Taiwan, Holland and of course "me" the only uncle from Singapore la!!

 

 

Exile Pros Sam Stinnett & Blair Conklin came all the way from the States to act as judge for the event. 

 And preform some demos as well!

The sun is really scorching HOT in the southern part of Taiwan "Kenting" too!!

Haha.. dear helping out for the competition at the registration counter.. poor thing have to endure the hot sun..

 

老爸上场了！After this year comp, I told my wife I think I should consider retiring from competition. Age have really taken a toll on me. Maybe I can consider manager role, bringing the best skimmer from my country to compete instead! If not wait another 5 more years I can enter the 乐龄 category hahaha..

 

 

Long day at the beach for everybody. Time for Kenting party time!

 

 

Kenting night market feel somehow like Shilin + Bali.. It is really happening at night with the whole street filled with carts after carts selling street foods and surf shops as well. 

 

I tell you this grill pork slices is the beast! It is freaking good! Juicy and peppery.. Yummy~

What is Taiwan without bubble tea?! Anyway this stupid frog brand sux..

Wife brought me to this store saying it is quite popular.

I was quite skeptical at first by the look of it.. it look so disgusting sia.. like assorted kway chay gone wrong.. But I tell you this dish is THE BOMB!! Damn shiok sia.. highly recommended la u must try.. it's actually like our Yong Tao Hu with a special sauce that is quite sweet..

Well something epic happen here.. Wife decided to try out the street massage services for her back ache. While waiting for her turn, I noticed one of the masseuse suddenly 翻白眼 while massaging for one of the customer which is quite over-size *not this pair in the picture*. Out of boredom。。

 I turned to my wife and said "Dear 你看。。那师傅。。”

 Wife: 师傅怎么了？

Me: 他按到翻白眼。。那顾客太肥了。。呵呵

Wife: 你知道他们是什么人吗？

Me: 什么? o.0"

Wife: Read the banner... you idiot..

OMFG my CB 鸡白 mouth strike again.. I immediately realize my mistake and was so sorry... But story doesn't end here.. we went back for their service on the following day and this time round I decided to go for it.. and guess what.. I got selected by the 师傅 that I gossip about.. After he sat me down I almost burst out laughing upon seeing his pants....

After our round at the night market, everyone was really tired and headed back for an early rest.

End of Day 3~

 

 

2nd Day for the skim comp. Quarter, Semi and Final... Didn't managed to get in because I sux.. haha.. I must say the Philippines riders are killing it!~ 

Takeaway breakfast time. This is where I got my inspiration from. It's a bed & breakfast concept, on the second floor are room for tourist.

I like the simple black/white country resort theme of the café.

They served really good takeaway breakfast. Ham, Omelette and Mayo cheese toast bread..
